The only issue with Johnny Mac's is that when I carry out, I don't always have beer at home to accompany their great food. You call ahead for your order, and typically no matter how large it is, it's ready within 25 minutes. I have ordered twice in the past week, and each time was great! I have already told my husband he owes me a date night where I can enjoy their pizza and wings with their beer selections. The first time we ordered just two orders of their 5-pound wings, all mild. They were ready as promised, 25 minutes. The pickup staff included ranch, napkins and poked holes in our boxes so our wings could breathe and not get too soggy I assume. We didn't think much of it, but the wings were great. The only issue was that since they were sitting in the box for a bit, the mild sauce sort of drained to the bottom with the butter they mixed it with. It wasn't a big deal, and we still enjoyed the wings. Their ranch is the best, and it pairs perfectly with the wings. The next time we did another pickup for two Henderson specials, one pepperoni and mild wings, and one cheese pizza with bbq wings. We picked up the food, and again, fresh. The bbq wings were more of my favorite than the mild, but the mild still hit the spot! The pizza was great, it was fresh, nice crust, and great portions. We also tried the meatball sub since the food was for a get together we were going to have at home for about 30 minutes later. That wasn't too bad, I think the fries could have been better, but they were crispy and warm even after sitting in the to go container for a while. The sauce on the meatballs is great! Not sure if the meatballs are homemade or not, but I wasn't left upset after eating it. Overall, the price for the food you get is an amazing deal. The food is fresh, tasty, and even if they're busy, they constantly check on you to make sure you're doing okay, or let you know your order is coming up soon. The restaurant is always busy though, so bring patience! I will be back for the wings for sure, and maybe some other menu items!
We ate last night at Johnny Mac on Boulder Highway. Our waitress was excellent. Her name was Shirley.great food and atmosphere
Service (Tessa, our waitress) was really good, attentive. The food was pretty good - my burger was great and husband was okay with his pastrami sandwich. We'd definitely come back, but will probably order something different.
Sometimes you just have to take a little trip across town to try a spot you keep hearing about and see if the hype is real. Well Monday Night was that time. We rolled over to Johnny Macs based on multiple wing recommendations and when we arrived we ignorantly forgot that Monday Night football was in full effect. With a table to 5 we needed to wait for a while for a big enough table to open up but once it did we were quickly seated. Now, most of us in the party are wing fans and were ready to rock some wings so we ended up ordering 6lbs total with most of them being "Double Baked" and one Pastrami Burger. First, lets talk about the sorcery of double baking, wings cooked and tossed in hot then coated in garlic parm and baked.... The flavor was amazing and make for a great sticky sauce and the wings were all large and cooked perfectly. We also had a mango hab and parmesan double baked as well as a Spicy BBQ and we also order some Suicide.. Now, for the gripe when it comes to the sauces. I am a huge hot food guy, the hotter the better so when I ordered the suicide I was looking forward to that lip tingling fire you get from some real hot saucery but these suicide wings were an absolute spice letdown... The hot mixed with garlic parm were substantially spicier. Other than that the wings where definitely top 3 in my book. The burger... Oh The burger... The pastrami burger sounded great based on the menu description and when asked how we wanted it cooked we said medium and I will say that the only thing medium was the amount of attention paid to the grill while cooking this burger. I understand this is a sports bar but giving out pucks is not an awesome novelty. We did ask for an additional side of the sauce that was supposed to be on the burger to try and make it a bit easier to eat but it didn't really help, so we just picked at some of the pastrami and shared wings with the proud owner of this petrified patty. Overall, yes I would go back to Johnny Macs for wings, I don't know that I would order a burger or venture around the menu too much but a beer and some wings would make this a solid choice.
Finally tried this place after so many people raving about it and overall was a good place. If you love wings, you are probably going to love this place. I am not a huge wing fan, but I thought they were great! Pizza is good, not the best I ever had but by no means bad. They have a great menu with variety, and great specials to take advantage of! There were 5 of us and we did the special with pizza, wings, and salad and had so much food left over! Service was great, it was super busy in there but our server was still super attentive. I would for sure come back here and try some different stuff on the menu!
Another Johnny Mac's visit and another satisfied meal. I think I've pretty much mentioned it before that this place is an institution and they recently opened a secondary one on Water Street downtown Henderson. Staff is always friendly. The vibe is always good and the drinks and food are a notch above standard bar food. Every time I've been here it seems like there are plenty of locals who frequent here over and over. Really nice selection of choices. No pictures today I was too hungry to pick up my phone once the food came.
So many influencers were posting this place and I was hesitant to try it. But I decided to try it and I came here on a Wednesday.. it was packed! I was so surprised. Had to wait about 20 minutes until I was seated. It's a sports bar, so there's tvs everywhere and a bunch of games were playing. Once we were seated, the server took our order. The service was great, the server kept checking up on us. The food was delicious! The wings are Top tier. I loved the buffalo/garlic parm the best. The flavor was chefs kiss! The mozzerella sticks, yum! Im not a marinara person but theirs was actually good! Everything fresh and piping hot! I'll come back and try their pizza!
I've been back here a few times since my review, maybe 4-5 times including last night. Really has a fun and cozy neighborhood vibe and good energy. It's always packed when we come here, even at 4:30 in the afternoon. Didn't hurt that it was 1/2 pizza night -- Wednesday's what a deal! Seats are comfortable, lots of TV's to watch the games, good music playing but they'll turn the game sound on for the Knights. Never really tried the daily specials before but pizza night is a keeper and will definitely have to try spaghetti and meatballs night and corned beef and cabbage. One other bonus on the night after the election? MAGA hats everywhere... my kind of place!
Been meaning to check out Johnny Mac's for a while and finally made it out here. Went on a Sunday and it was super packed, specially that it's a Buffalo Bills home and the Bills were playing. After a 40 minute wait we finally got sat. We started off with mozzarella sticks and these fried balls filled with corn, jalapeño bites and cheese that were really good. They serve them with a spicy ranch dressing. We also ordered a pound of wing. The server recommended us trying them with buffalo sauce then fried again then tossed in the lemon pepper rub. They were crispy and juicy at the same time. I was really disappointed they used store bought ranch. It was not my favorite. It kinda ruined the whole experience. If I would to ever go all the way back there I'd maybe take my own ranch.
I have been seeing Johnny Mac's all over social media for a while so we decided to check it out. We liked the wings so much we went back a second time. Both visits the staff were so great. Super friendly and attentive. Which the place was packed on both Saturdays I have been yet they were on it! We did the Daily Special of 5 pounds of wings, Large one topping and Salad. If you're in a group of 4+ I feel like this is a great deal. The salad is pretty standard but I preferred the Caesar over the house. When we got the house salad the week before the lettuce seemed a little old. The pizza is also pretty standard for me. Do love that they use the pepperoni cups. Honestly the wings might be some of the best wings I have had at a restaurant. I HATE soggy wings but theirs are crispy. I like to get plain wings and then get the sauce on the side so they stay crispy. 10/10.
